Plant City, Florida-- This Friday, May 4, an official unveiling of the eight sculptures from the 'Man on the Street" collection takes place at 11 a.m.
J. Sewrad Johnson sculpted these statues to depict scenes from everyday life in the U.S. They will be on display throughout Plant City

This official unveiling parallels the opening of the Plant City Photo Archives & History Center's (PCPA) Smithsonian exhibition, "Journey Stories", a chronicling of U.S. history. 
The city welcomes the public, and this event will be free.

Plant City, Florida -- Keel & Curley Winery has been called the Napa Valley of the Tampa Bay area and now is your chance to find out why.
The 2012 Blueberry Festival takes place May 5 and 6 at the winery.

This is the 5th year for the Blueberry Festival where you'll get the chance to sample some of the featured wines made with blueberries.
You will get to sample some of their finest wines with a free tasting.
Last July, Keel & Curley debuted two new wines: Dry Blackberry and Sweet Blackberry, both made with 100% blackberries.
Keel & Curley invites you to start picking blueberries at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, and 10 a.m. on Sunday the 6. 
The festival is open until 6 p.m. both days.
Admission is free but there is a $5 fee to park.

Plant City, Florida -- The Plant City Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds Sunday.
According to police, around 6:42 a.m. at 1501 E. Ohio St., 28-year-old Christopher Nelson, of St. Pete, was shot by a man described as
...more a black male, 5'10" in mid-20s who is still at-large.
Police say they believe this is not a random act, but a motive has not yet been established.
Nelson is in stable condition and is cooperating with detectives. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call Major Crimes Sergeant James Schultz at 813-757-9200.

Plant City, Florida-- The next Master Gardender program takes place on May 13 at the Bruton Memorial Library.

On the second Monday of the month from 7:00PM to 8:00PM, a program is held in the meeting room at the front of Bruton Memorial Library.  It is followed by a plant exchange, so remember to bring a plant from your own garden! The program operates September through May, and skips December.
